I hope to answer some of your questions, as I was involved in the yoga type meditation back in the early 70's late 60's.The article about that is on this web site at http://deceptionbytes.com/node/27 I have really come to the conclusion that no matter what the issues or "experiences" are, whether it is some sort of phenomena/manifestation, or intellectual, the deciding factor in what we do with it is one of the heart.
Luk 10:27 So he answered and said, "'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND,' and 'YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.'"

With all the "phenomena", the energy, the weird stuff that is manifested visually...it is the focus on SELF that will keep us trapped in deception, or lead us into it. Mat 7:7 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
God is faithful..always...if the heart before Him seeks Him, He will answer.His WORD is the test,it is the standard.As Paul wrote below,the POWER of His resurrection that comes through faith in Christ...is realized in the fellowship of His sufferrings and being conformed to His death...that is the cross. (Not a very popular theme...dying to self.) Then gaining Christ...which is EVERYTHING. Speaking from my own walk with the Lord...His Presence and joy I have known has been the greatest outside of any church setting!

Php 3:8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ
9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;
10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,
11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.
Paul was not just talking about the comfort of home and his material possessions...he had lost his prestige, his position in his culture in which he was highly esteemed. He was looked upon now as just a nut case, and a trouble maker. Are we willing to do the same? Time will tell, as the sheep and the goats are separated.
